The Nigerian handset market is set to become the largest in Africa. Studies have shown that, shipments of new GSM phones should rise from approximately 11million in 2007 to above 15million in 2008 and 19million in 2009.
Nokia continues to lead the Nigerian handset market, accounting for nearly half of all sales and one of the top five most popular handsets. Nevertheless, other brands of handsets are making increasingly strong visibility and hold a sizeable market share too. The others on the list of top-five vendors were Samsung, Sagem, Sony Ericsson and Motorola……….
